Manchester United is actively searching for a new striker, and Ollie Watkins, 29, is one of their top targets, along with Benjamin Sesko.
According to latest information, Emery has identified Openda, a 25-year-old Belgium international, as a potential replacement for Watkins if he leaves the team.
Aston Villa had previously considered signing Openda several months ago, but decided against it while Watkins was still with the club.
It's reported that the club will require a significant fee, around £45 million, to consider selling Watkins, who is a prolific England international.
