Crystal Palace will soon learn the outcome of their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The appeal is about their demotion to the Europa Conference League by UEFA's Club Financial Control Body. This decision was made due to a case involving multi-club ownership, with John Textor also being the majority owner of Lyon.

Textor has since sold his stake in Crystal Palace to Woody Johnson, the owner of the New York Jets, for over £190 million. A closed-door hearing will be held on August 8th, and the verdict is expected to be announced on August 11th.

Nottingham Forest will replace Crystal Palace in the Europa Conference League if the appeal is rejected. They finished seventh in the Premier League last season.
