The Gunners are keen on signing Gyokeres, following their decision to reassess their interest in RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.
Berta traveled to Lisbon yesterday to meet with Sporting's directors and discuss the terms of the transfer, including the transfer fee.
It is reported that a possible transfer fee of up to £70 million could be agreed upon between the two parties.
Notably, Gyokeres had previously agreed to join Arsenal several weeks ago, with the terms of the contract reportedly worth £200,000 per week.
Gyokeres had a remarkable season with Sporting last year, scoring an impressive 54 goals as a centre-forward.
