Carr compared Alli's situation to that of an injured player trying to get back into shape. "It's very hard," he explained. "You do all the training, but getting back to full fitness takes time. Alli has missed a lot of football, and his chances are getting slim."
Carr noted that Alli has had opportunities, including a stint at Como, but hasn't been able to regain his top-level form. "It's very difficult to get back up to that pace and standard," he said. "Your body gets used to playing at a certain level, and when you're not playing, it's hard to catch up."
Carr expressed concerns about Alli's physical condition, stating that his body may not be able to handle the demands of top-level football anymore. "He will pick up injuries," Carr said. "His body isn't used to playing at the highest level now."
Despite this, Carr believes Alli still has a chance to turn his career around. "He is a top player, has played for England, but that's in the past," he said. "Now, it's about what he can do in the present. Whether he gets another good opportunity or whether his desire is there..."
Alli has reportedly been speaking with several EFL clubs, including Wrexham and Birmingham, as he considers his options.
