"Life gives you two choices," Chalobah said. "You can let things affect you or focus on what's in front of you. I kept my head down, worked on my game, and managed to bring myself back to Chelsea."
Chalobah emphasized that he didn't feel the need to prove himself, having already demonstrated his level at the club in previous seasons.
"The club and manager have seen my quality, and it was just about coming back and helping the team," he said.
Chalobah also spoke about being loaned out to Palace last season, where he was initially told he wouldn't be part of Chelsea's plans.
Instead of dwelling on the situation, Chalobah took it as an opportunity to gain experience and improve his game.
"I went back to Palace, got my games in, and then came back to Chelsea to show my level and help the team," he said.
Chalobah is now focused on contributing to Chelsea's success in the new season.
