Paqueta was charged by the Football Association (FA) in May 2024 for allegedly getting himself booked in matches against Leicester City, Aston Villa, Leeds United, and Bournemouth during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
The FA alleged that Paqueta received yellow cards so that others could profit financially from betting on his bookings. However, Paqueta has denied these allegations.
According to reports, the commission is likely to clear Paqueta of any wrongdoing. As a result, the FA may have to pay for Paqueta's legal fees, which could amount to £1 million.
