Two young players, Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson, made their home debuts for the team but were unable to help United secure a much-needed victory. Despite their impressive performances, Amass and Fredricson were part of a team that fell short of their goals.
Amorim plans to give more opportunities to the young players in the remaining Premier League games as he aims to qualify for the Champions League through the Europa League. United had earlier secured a spot in the semi-final with a thrilling 4-2 win over Lyon in extra time.
Amorim was visibly frustrated that his team couldn't provide a memorable experience for Amass and Fredricson on their home debuts. He praised their performances, saying they "deserved a better memory" from their first games with the team.
"I felt today that they deserved a better memory from their first games," Amorim said. "Tyler played really well, and Amass played really well, and they deserved better because we were the better team. We played well, created chances, but in the end, one opportunity for the opponent, and they scored. The memories are not the best for these kids, but they played well."
