Pickford said while with the England squad: “I think there were a lot of positives towards the end of last season – with the new owners bringing stability to the club, the new stadium, and the new manager. We've done well since the manager came in. It's about staying strong, getting better, and improving as a team – and starting the new season well, as we haven't done that in the past few years.
“I think this manager will demand a good start and good performances. He'll want us to get wins on the board and play well.
Pickford also talked about his time at Sunderland, where he made his debut under Big Sam Allardyce. He sat on the bench for a while, but then Moyes took over and Vito Mannone got injured, giving Pickford his chance to play. He played for the rest of the season, learned a lot, and had a great time playing for his boyhood club.
Pickford feels that Moyes has brought a sense of unity to the club. He remembers how Moyes' team beat Sunderland when he was a fan, and now he's happy to be playing for Everton under Moyes. He thinks the manager gets the connection with the fans, and that's something he values highly.
